Scholarship Funds

Donors customize a scholarship for graduates of a certain school, for studies in a specific field or programs at a particular education institution. The donor may play a role in the selection process.


  • Alois and Marie Goldmann Memorial Scholarship Fund—1997
    Created by the George and Mary Freund family of Idaho Falls to memorialize his grandparents who were murdered during World War II at Auschwitz.
  • Alvie C. Jeffres Memorial Scholarship Fund—1997
    The fund was created by June Jeffres Robertson of Sandpoint in memory of her late husband. Distributions provide scholarships to worthy students in Bonner County. Mrs. Robertson and descendants of Mr. Jeffres serve on the selection committee that selects the recipients.
  • Anne Veseth Memorial Scholarship Fund—2012
    This Fund was created by Claire Veseth and family of Moscow to provide financial support to students majoring in Fire Ecology or Auto Mechanics, or students who are currently Wildland Firefighters attending an Idaho college or university.
  • Boise Branch, American Association of University Women Inez Robb Scholarship Fund—1997
    Created to memorialize the former journalist who bequeathed funds to the organization to provide scholarships to Boise State University juniors or seniors.
  • Boo Bushell Youth in the Performing Arts Scholarship Fund —2008
    Created in memory of Boo Bushell, grants provide scholarships to Blaine County second school graduates wishing to pursue theater arts, to provide scholarships to Camp Little Laugh.
  • Caldwell Memorial Hospital Employees and Friends Health Services Scholarship Fund —2011
    The Caldwell Memorial Hospital Employees and Friends Health Services Scholarship Fund was established by the employees and friends of Caldwell Memorial Hospital and provides financial assistance to students, primarily in the original Hospital’s service area, that are interested in pursuing a degree or certificate in a health care field.
  • Chesnut Family Scholarship Fund —2022
    This Fund was created by Tanya Chesnut of Post Falls to provide scholarship support to graduates of Post Falls High School pursuing a Health Sciences degree at an accredited Idaho college or university.
  • Colton Mackey Memorial Scholarship Fund—2011
    Established in loving memory of Colton Mackey, this fund was created in his honor by Bo and Melissa Mackey to help Middleton High School graduating students who wish to continue their education and share Colton's love for his teammates on the field and his passion for the outdoors in the field.
  • D & D Rhoades Scholarship Fund—2019
    This Fund was created by Dusty and Dorothy Rhoades of Kamiah, Idaho, to provide financial aid to graduates of Kamiah High School, Clearwater Valley High School, Grangeville High School, Prairie High School, Highland High School and Nezperce High School pursuing a degree in an agriculture-related field such as, without limitatioh, Farming, Veterinary Science, Agri-Business and Diesel Mechanics.
  • Dan and Ruth Panko Memorial Scholarship Fund—1995
    This scholarship is advertised in Old Time Fiddlers news announcements. The student must be graduating from an Idaho school and planning to attend ISU. The scholarship application is given out through the music department of ISU.
  • Daugherty Foundation - EITC Scholarship Fund—1993
    Established by the Daugherty Foundation, scholarships benefit students attending Eastern Idaho Technical College at Idaho Falls.
  • Daugherty Foundation—ISU Education Scholarship Fund—1991
    The fund recognizes Idaho students at the junior level or above at Idaho State University who meet high academic standards.
  • Dean and Gay Welch Scholaship Fund—2014
    This Fund was established by a bequest from Dean and Gay Welch to forever support scholarships for students at Emmett High School and Black Canyon High School in Emmett, Idaho.
  • Diamond W Scholarship Fund—2017
    This Fund was created by an Idaho couple to provide financial aid to graduates of Snake River High School pursuing a degree at an accredited college U.S. college/university.
  • Donovan and Evelyn Grable Memorial Scholarship Fund—1990
    Established by Linda Grable-Curtis as a memorial to her parents, the fund recognizes her mother’s lifelong interests by assisting students of the Business and Office Education Program in the College of Technology at Boise State University.
  • Dorothy B. Adler Scholarship Fund—2012
    This Fund was created by bequest by the Adler Estate to provide scholarships for low-income students graduating from Lake Pend Oreille Alternative High School
  • Dorothy L. White Memorial Scholarship Fund—1990
    Established by the New Plymouth Kiwanis Club as a permanent memorial, earnings from the fund assist graduates of New Plymouth High School with their first year of study at an institution of higher learning.
  • Eric Marshall Sullins Scholarship Fund—2014
    This Fund was created by the Eric Marshall Sullins Scholarship Trust to provide financial aid to graduates of Fruitland High School.
  • Erle and Cynthia Byram Scholarship Fund—2014
    Created through the estate of Erle and Cynthia Byram of Gooding to forever provide scholarships to students in Southwestern and Easter Idaho (south of the Salmon River), with preference given to students from Gooding and Camas counties.
  • Evea Harrington Powers Memorial Scholarship Fund—2010
    Established in memory of Evea Harrington Powers, to provide scholarships for graduates of Council HS, Council, Idaho, entering their 1st or 2nd year of higher education, and meeting certain conditions as described in the funding documents of record.
  • Frances Reed Purkhiser Memorial Scholarship Fund—1996
    Established by Paul and Judith Schultz in memory of her mother, the fund honors this outstanding New Plymouth school teacher by providing scholarships to graduating seniors of that community’s high school.
  • Fredrick Chandler Memorial Scholarship Fund—2000
    Created in memory of this Ketchum resident, scholarships from the fund will benefit students of the Community School in Sun Valley who have an aptitude for science.
  • George and Jean Cruickshank and Aunt Adis Little Scholarship Fund—2006
    Created in honor of these Idaho citizens, this fund provides scholarships to seniors graduating from high schools under the governance of the Emmett Public School District who attend BSU, U of I, ISU, or College of Idaho.
  • Gooding High School Scholarship Fund—1996
    Created by the 1956 graduating class, the fund provides scholarships to graduating seniors of the school.
  • Harry and Lisa Garlick Scholarship Fund—2005
    This scholarship fund was created as a memorial for these Emmett residents who had strong ties to Garden Valley.
  • Hispanic Business Association—Richard G. Cortez Scholarship Fund—2007
    Created by the Hispanic Business Association to provide scholarships to Hispanic students.
  • Hokey Pokey Scholarship Fund—2001
    Created in memory of Roland L. LaPrise, who co-wrote the popular song, the “Hokey Pokey,” this fund was established by his family to provide scholarships to assist second-year music students with educational expenses at the College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls.
  • Idaho Nursing and Health Professions Scholarship Fund—2006
    The Idaho Nursing Scholarship was created to help Idaho students who are obtaining a nursing degree at an Idaho institution.
  • Idaho Power Company Memorial Scholarship Fund—2009
    Established by Idaho Power Company to provide a permanent mechanism to honor and memorialize employees whose dedication to the Company helped foster its success, and to provide post-secondary education scholarships to Idaho students.
  • Idaho Press Club—Don Watkins Scholarship Fund—1992
    Established to memorialize this journalist and political consultant, the fund has two components. The Don Watkins Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a graduate of an Idaho high school pursuing a career in journalism or communications who has completed at least one year of college study. The Don Watkins Mid-Career Scholarship is awarded to members of the Idaho Press Club to use for training or a project that will improve the working press in Idaho.
  • Idaho Society of CPA’s Scholarship Fund—2003
    Created to attract the best and brightest students to the profession, scholarships from this fund benefit students pursuing an accounting degree at an Idaho school.
  • Idaho State Council of Trout Unlimited Graduate Scholarship Fund—1998
    Distributions from the fund provide scholarships to students pursuing a graduate research project that involves native or endemic cold water fish.
  • Irene Gustafson Scholarship Fund—1999
    Created to honor this Moscow High School English teacher. Graduates during Ms. Gustafson’s tenure (1948-1956) were asked to join Loyce Smith and Inez Davey of Boise in contributing. Distributions from the fund provide scholarships to graduating seniors of Moscow High School.
  • Irma Frisch Farrington Fund—1993
    The fund memorializes Ms. Farrington’s sister and brother-in-law through the creation of the Alice Wolfe Art Scholarship and the George V. Wolfe Pre-Law Scholarship at College of Idaho.
  • J. Carl Mattson Scholarship Fund—1997
    Created by the transfer of an existing trust, the fund provides vocational agricultural scholarships to students of the Firth School District.
  • Jackson Companies Endowed Scholarship Fund - 2018
    This Fund was created by Jackson Companies to provide financial aid to children or dependents of active, full-time Jackson Companies employees who are pursuing a degree at an accredited, two-year or four-year post-secondary institution.
  • James and Rose Helebrant Education Scholarship Fund—1991
    Established by transfer of a trust, scholarships are awarded to financially needy Buhl High School graduates for educational expenses at a college or university of their choice.
  • Jayo Family Scholarship Fund—2005
    Established by the Emmett Public School Foundation through the transfer of an endowment, the fund assists graduates of Emmett area high schools with their first year of study at any institution of higher learning.
  • Jean Adams Scholarship Fund—1999
    Created by this 1946 graduate of Mountain Home High School to provide scholarships to graduates of her alma mater who plan to pursue higher education in the state of Idaho.
  • Jeanne Van Meeteren Scholarship Fund – 2023
    Created by Jeanne Van Meeteren of Orofino to provide financial aid to graduates from Clearwater, Idaho, Latah, Lewis, and Nez Perce county high schools that will help rural communities flourish.
  • Jim Poore Memorial Scholarship Fund—1994
    Established to recognize the late Idaho Statesman sports editor. Scholarships are awarded to college journalism students who attended high school in Idaho.
  • Joybelle Scott College Scholarship Fund—2020
    To celebrate Joybelle Scott’s life, Claire and Dow Scott established the Joybelle Scott College Scholarship Fund for deserving Orofino High School Seniors. A university education transformed Joybelle’s life, enriching the lives of her four children and nine grandchildren. It is our sincere hope that the fund inspires and transforms the lives of young people from Orofino, enriching their lives and the lives of people around them.
  • Kathryn A. Scott Scholarship Fund—2011
    This scholarship was established to provide nontraditional female students, who may not meet the strict criteria of a typical scholarship, a chance to further their education and training.
  • Kuna High School Scholarship Fund—2000
    Created by an anonymous donor to provide scholarships to worthy graduates of Kuna High School.
  • Larry J. May Hospitality Management Scholarship Fund—2005
    Created by family and friends to memorialize this long-time hotel entrepreneur, funds provide scholarships for Idaho students pursuing a degree in hospitality management.
  • Lewis and Jeanette Hower Fund—1992
    The fund was created to benefit Idaho students, preferably from the Emmett area, planning to major in journalism at the University of Idaho and/or music at College of Idaho.
  • Lincoln Family Educational Foundation Scholarship Fund—2023
    This Fund was created by the Lincoln Family Educational Foundation of Boise to provide financial aid to graduates of high schools in the Treasure Valley YMCA service area pursuing a degree at an accredited college, university, community college or vo-tech program.
  • Lucille F. Zanetti Scholarship Fund—2008
    Created by Lucille F. Zanetti to help further the education of students from Wallace, Kellogg, and Mullan High Schools.
  • Manuel and Gladys Schneidmiller Scholarship Fund—1999
    Created by Mrs. Schneidmiller to provide scholarships to graduating seniors of Post Falls High School.
  • Margaret A. Plastino Memorial Scholarship for Idaho Nurses—2021
    This Fund was created by the family of Margaret A. Plastino to honor her memory and recognize her dedication to and impact on the nursing profession in the state of Idaho.
  • Merritt Brook Scholarship—2008
    Created by Jonathan Lang and Summer Hinton, this fund will provide students from Jerome High School and/or Northside Alternative School with scholarships to attend their choice of higher education institutions.
  • Mike Crapo Math and Science Scholarship Fund—2004
    Created by U.S. Senator Mike Crapo, scholarships from this fund will benefit students pursuing a degree in math or science at an Idaho school.
  • Mona Noble Education Fund—2007
    Created by Mona Noble, a retired teacher to help students who are entering their junior or senior year and who are planning on teaching business, economics, or marketing.
  • Mountain Home High School Class of 1960 Trust Fund—1995
    Established by transfer of a trust, scholarships are awarded to graduating Mountain Home High School seniors for educational expenses at a college or university of their choice.
  • Nora Johnson Memorial Fund—1990
    Established by the New Plymouth Kiwanis Club in conjunction with the Dorothy L. White Memorial Scholarship, the fund assists graduates of New Plymouth High School with their first year of study at any Idaho institution of higher learning.
  • Paul and Jo Easterbrook Scholarship Fund—1997
    Created by this Emmett couple to provide scholarships to graduating seniors of a Gem County high school who are pursuing a bachelor’s degree at any Idaho institution of higher learning.
  • Paul C. Rebholtz Memorial Scholarship Fund—2005
    Created by Amy Rebholtz, along with family and friends, to memorialize her late husband, scholarships assist graduating seniors from Boise High School with educational expenses at the college, university, vocational, or technical school of their choice.
  • Perc H. Shelton and Gladys A. Pospisil Shelton Foundation Scholarship Fund—2004
    This fund, which was established through the transfer of assets of this private foundation, was originally created by a bequest from these long-time McCall residents. Distributions provide scholarships to worthy students of McCall-Donnelly High School.
  • Preston and Franklin County High School Alumni Fund—2021
    This fund was created by alumni of Preston High School to provide financial aid to graduates of Preston and Franklin County High Schools pursuing a degree at an accredited college, tech school, or university.
  • Raymond and Bonnie Turner Scholarship Fund—2006
    The purpose of the Fund is to provide scholarships to students graduating from Weiser High School who will be attending the University of Idaho.
  • Richfield High School Scholarship Fund—2002
    Created by Richfield residents Lawrence and Sandra Calkins, Richfield Lodge AF &AM #70, and through donations in memory of John Paul Lemmon and Betty Ann Clark, scholarships are awarded to worthy students of Richfield High School.
  • Robert C. Weaver Memorial Scholarship Fund—1991
    Established by Neola Weaver in memory of her late husband, residents or former residents of Buhl are eligible for scholarship support as either traditional or nontraditional students.
  • Ronald P. and Ethel R. Rawlinson Memorial Scholarship Fund—2011
    This Fund was established to provide financial aid to Emmett area students interested in pursuing a career in the medical or paramedical fields, as well as to forever remember Dr. and Mrs. Rawlinson's lifelong commitment to their community.
  • Salmon River High School Scholarship Fund—2022
    This Fund was created by Carl and Ingrid Skyrman of Riggins, Idaho, to provide financial assistance in the form of post-secondary scholarships to graduates of Salmon River High School.
  • Sonja Tarnay Educational Fund—1998
    The fund was created in memory of this Sun Valley resident. Scholarships are awarded to graduating seniors of Wood River Valley high schools who are pursuing careers in the visual and/or performing arts.
  • SPRinG Fund—2023
    This Fund was created by Andrea Clark Roope and Caleb Roope of Boise to provide financial aid to students who are pursuing a post-secondary education, including Career & Technical Education, that have survived the effects of trauma in their lives.
  • Steve and Donna Guerber Scholarship Fund—1994
    Proceeds from the fund benefit mass communications students at Idaho State University.
  • Ted Ellis Scholarship Fund for the Boys and Girls Club of Ada County—2000
    Created by KeyBank in recognition of the efforts made on behalf of needy children by this retired Key Bank executive, who then became mayor of Garden City. Distributions from the fund provide scholarships for graduating high school seniors who have been involved in the Boys and Girls Clubs of Ada County.
  • Theodore H. Correll Memorial Scholarship Fund—1999
    Created by a number of his former students, distributions from this fund provide scholarships to worthy students of Moscow High School.
  • Treasure Valley Family YMCA Scholarship for Civic Engagement Fund—2000
    Created by Ed and Dottie Stimpson and the Henry M. Jackson Foundation because it is their belief that service to others is the most important characteristic of a healthy, civil, and successful society. Scholarships are awarded to qualified students in the service area of the Treasure Valley Family YMCA.
  • Turn Around Scholarship Fund—2006
    Created to help students who have successfully turned their lives around and graduated from a recognized alternative high school, this fund provides scholarships to public school students in Meridian Joint School District 2 or Boise Independent School District.
  • W. L. Shattuck Scholarship—2006
    With the transfer of assets of the W. L. Shattuck Foundation created by Warren Leland and Alice M. Shattuck of Idaho Falls, this fund will benefit students from Idaho Falls School Districts 91 &93.
  • Wendell P. and Barbara L. Carnefix Memorial Scholarship Fund—2003
    Created in memory of this long-time Fruitland nurseryman and orchard owner, this fund was established by his family to provide scholarships for Fruitland High School graduates pursuing a career in agriculture or horticulture.
  • Wood River Odd Fellows &Rebekahs Scholarship Fund—1996
    Created by Alturas Lodge #13, I.O.O.F. and Snowdrop Rebekah Lodge #71 with the proceeds from the sale of their building, the fund provides scholarships for graduates in the Wood River Valley who choose to attend a college, university, vocational, or technical school.
  • Yvonne and Dick Lierz Scholarship Fund—1999
    Created by this Boise couple, distributions from the fund provide scholarships to qualifying children of Franklin Building Supply’s employees to attend any public institution of higher education in the state in which they reside.
